Software needed to use AppleBookshop web site and the books.

• A browser that can read JavaScript; if your shop basket does not fill it could be that your browser has disabled JavaScript or it does not accept cookies.

•  We recommend that you use Mozilla,  Netscape Navigator 5+  or Internet Explorer 5+ to view these pages.

• The books are compressed in a zipfile for quick & safe downloading, so you will need a copy of Winzip or the freeware software JustZIPit to open up your books.   For non Microsoft systems (eg Acorn, Amiga, Cray, Macintosh, os/2) you can use a freeware copy of Info-UnZip

• Once your books are unzipped they can be read in Wordpad in Windows 95/98 or any text editor that can read RTF files (Rich Text Format) or Microsoft Word97 doc files.  A freeware document reader can be found at: Microsoft Viewer for readers without Microsoft Word.

•  Books by Modern Published Authors are in the new Microsoft Reader format. You can get the Reader from www.microsoft.com/reader .  At this time  the  Microsoft Reader is available only for  the P.C. computer. You can download  Microsoft Reader from here  if the USA Microsoft website is slow. Also there is Text-to-Speech software  which turns our eBooks into talking books.
